"Whatever you are looking to capture on film, we can design a package
to fit your budget, engage your audience and get you noticed. We work
hard to bring a different perspective to all our productions. We never
come to the table with tried pre-set formats. Instead our innovative
and unique style unfolds as we listen to you, the client, outline what
you’re looking to achieve. This is when ideas begin to emerge
and take shape. The result is that your corporate video production will
stand out from the rest. Our film and industry experience means no more
'poorly produced' corporate films, only vibrant, eye-catching memorable
programmes.

Gorgeous Media is a creative film and video company based in
Lancaster. The company was set up in 2004 and since then has been producing
promotional films for local businesses, practical video workshops with young
people and educational work with Local Authorities.
We also cover weddings
and other large events.
Kinematograph
Kinematograph was started several years ago in Lancaster to promote
local alternative media, showing films that people wouldn’t
otherwise get to see. Footage of local, national, and international
protests was shown, along with the usual activist D.I.Y shorts
from the inspirational archives of Undercurrents, Beyond TV, European
Newsreel, etc. So far in 2004, we’ve screened films such
as Manufacturing Consent,
a film about Noam Chomsky and the mainstream media, and Punishment
Park, a rather disturbing piece of cinema by the excellent Peter
Watkins. When Kinematograph started, films were screened at various
places, such as the Uni and the Gregson Centre, but we are now having
regular screenings at 7.30 on the first Thursday of every month,
at the Folly,
opposite the castle. However, due to the cost of hiring the place
(we only ask for a donation to see the films) we’ll soon be
relocating, hopefully to the Lancaster
Action Resource Centre (aka The Basement) which is underneath
Single Step/Whale Tail. This also means we’ll have time after
the film (we only have two hours at the Folly) for people to discuss
what they’ve
seen. One of the reasons for doing this is to get people thinking and
talking more. Before we make the move, we need to get a projector
and screen, but locations of film screenings will be advertised
with each film.
We’re always interested in hearing from people who have ideas
for film screenings or who have feedback from films we’ve already
shown. If you’d like any more info, want to be added to our
mailing list, or can help with a screen or projector in anyway,
please e-mail brianmaiden@riseup.net. Cheers.
Check out the cinema
guide to see our screenings.
