THE BAND SHOWCASE
Halton Youth & Community Centre
19 April 2008
Reviewed by Kizzy Felstead

The Band Showcase in Halton Youth and Community Centre last month was a resounding success. Several bands - The Odd Socks, How's My Pop, The Evil Beat, The Wind Up Merchants, Small Town Heros, Jazz Dragons, She Never Sleeps and a comedian Kriss Foster from the area - all took part generously donating their time and energy for our fundraising event.
The evening was filled with good spirited, well-meaning, polite, thoughtful and considerate live acts who shared their equipment and good humour amongst each other and everyone who came to listen. It was great to see and be a part of the community spirit which joined forces to enable the event to go ahead.
Most of those involved in the live performances were teeneagers and there was also a local village band from St Wilfred's Primary School which was a wonderful sight and sound to behold. There was also a wide range of ages of those who came along to applaud the evening.
Big 'Thank You's' need to go out to all who helped and gave of their time, especially the performers and the compere - Kyle Oram, Toby Park the Sound Technician, Chris Tanning from Sound Savers.
