ROCK OUT FOR LIFE!
Cancer Research Uk fund raising event
Yorkshire House, Lancaster
May 3rd 2007

Music Artists and songwriting talent from around the world got together to raise money for Cancer Research Uk.
There was a variety of acts ranging from poetry, rapping, acoustic
sets and a dark atmospheric rock band called Dolore.
The night was started with James Knight, a poet from Australia
whose emotional prose was bared to all, followed by a rapper from
Blackpool, The Citizen, whose observations on life were well crafted
into his own style of rappping.
First singer/ songwriter up was the versatile Stephen Hudson
(right) whose vocals were warm and brightened up the room, with
his own material. Some of these were his first performances,
showing us his versatility on guitar and keyboards.
Joe Spence also gave a good performance of songs from
his favourite artiste, with cheery melodies and guitar from
the heart, and included some of his own material.
Giving us a short set was Dolores (pictured top), a dark atmospheric rock
band , showing their talents and giving me a chance to hear a great sound system at the Yorkshire House.
Dolores have a powerful vocalist and beautifully crafted guitar
sounds.
The final act was from Kr!ss Foster, who sang his own songs
with rapid guitar playing, and lyrics that reminded me of a few
songwriters who sing comical ditties, like Richard Digence and
Mike Harding.
All of these artists are currently playing in the area and are well worth getting out to see.
The landlady Alison said the night was a success.
There was a good turn out of people and over 500 pounds was
raised by the end of the night.
