FREE DISTRACTION BURGLARY KITS TO GIVE AWAY!
Thanks to funding from the Community Safety Partnership, the issuing of distraction burglary kits has proved a very popular deterrent to those considered vulnerable to the particularly unpleasant crime of distraction burglary. So far, Lancaster University Student Volunteers, trained in basic crime prevention and fire safety issued over 100 kits to those residents considered vulnerable to this particularly unpleasant crime and increasing the householders sense of well-being.
"Very, very helpful," said one kit receiver. "The memo minder included in the kit reminds me what to do before I open the door'.
If you would like a kit to be fitted or would like to know more about this project, please contact Jan Brown, Crime Prevention Officer, Lancaster Police Station tel. 01524 596696.
