TheLancaster and Morecambe area is widely
regarded as the 'Gateway to the Lakes'. One of Britain's most beautiful
regions, the South Lakes can easily be reached from the Lancaster area,
by train, bus or car.
CELEBRATING
CONISTON Coniston-based authors Ibby Brown and Alistair Cameron have
recently seen publication of The Story of Coniston from Trinity
Press. A reprint is underconsideration.
The project has taken two years to complete and which has involved at
least half of the Lakes village in one way or another.
Priced at £15.95, only 1000 copies have been printed. The 200-page
book describes Coniston's history up to the present day and containing
dozens of black and white and colour photographs.
Ibby is a member of the Lancaster University Writer's Workshop and has
had work published locally.
