Home of poet William Wordsworth (see also Wordsworth's
Lake District site). The Wordsworth Trust exists to be a living
memorial to the life and poetry of William Wordsworth and his contemporaries,
serving, in the words of the first Trustees, 'lovers of English poetry
from all over the world'. Its focus is Dove Cottage and the hamlet of
Town End, Grasmere, a place and a landscape at the centre of the English
Lake District where the poet lived, wrote and found inspiration.
