Hotel
Marine Road East, Morecambe LA4 5AP
Tel: 01524 421234
Pearl Dunne (Feb 2007): My husband and I stayed here from 29 Jan 2007 for 4 nights.
We paid extra for a sea view room and we were very comforable the whole time.
Our room was a bit small, very warm and clean with lots of storage space. The en-suite was also very good.
The food was very good and the service was excellent.
Throughout the hotel the staff were very professional and very helpful. I can recommend the Strathmore and we will certainly go back again.
Terry McCracken writes (July 2006): My wife and I stayed over the weekend June 23/26 and thouroughly enjoyed the stay.
Hotel was mainly filled with elderly guests, like ourselves, and they catered for us marvelously
Rooms are a bit small but good, lift is a bit tiny but we got my wife's wheelchair and myself in with a bit of a squeeze.
So much so we are going back this weekend Jul 7/10.

(July 2006): Our recent overnight stay at The Head-in-Middleton was great. Accommodation, food, pleasant welcoming staff, all made for a wonderful break. We sat in the beautiful garden under a huge cherry tree with our cup of coffee and watched the birds. It was so peaceful and we didn't want to leave. West
View Farm
Langthwaite Road, Scotforth, Lancaster LA1 3JJ
Tel: 01524 841336
Yvonne Hensman (August 2007): We have just spent four days here at West View Farm with our two little grandsons. They loved it and so did we! A warm welcome awaits you and everything is so relaxed. The boys were free to explore the farm (with the obvious restrictions about closing gates etc. imposed on them by us!!) and had a great time after breakfast each day.
For a relaxing holiday in the country but not too far from historic Lancaster, we would thoroughly recommend this B&B. Breakfasts were lovely and all our needs were catered for!
We will definitely be back!
Dr Konstantinos Arfanis (April 2007): This is one of Lancaster's best kept secrets. After spending three years in Lancaster studying for my PhD I returned this Easter for a relaxed time in this beautiful town. It was Maritime week and most places did not have vacancies for me and my wife, at least not for our entire stay in Lancaster. Apart from the farm being the cheapest of all places I called, Susan (the owner) was very helpful trying to accomodate me and my wife. We arrived to a fully working farm in the middle of the night (we live in the Isle of Wight and had to drive most of the night), and were greeted with a smile and were shown our clean and spacius room. Our experience in West View farm was a very pleasurable one. Great view from our window, peace and quiet, combined with excellent breakfast and a very relaxed attitude. It felt like staying at my aunt's house. I recommend it to anyone who needs a place to stay.
Claire Potter (July 2006) writes: If you have your car with you (or can afford to pay for taxis), this is a great B & B to stay at - especially if you have children with you. It is in a farmhouse on the edge of Lancaster in a lovely rural setting. In fact, it is a classic "Old MacDonalds" farm with some of each type of animal: a bull, cows, horses, foals, sheep, goats, and chickens. The owners were friendly and relaxed and allowed my son to wander around the farm, pet the foals, etc. The rooms were large and comfortable (in an old-fashioned kind of way) and the breakfast was plentiful and cooked perfectly. I highly recommend it.
