Footlights Youth theatre have just staged their latest
production Animal Farm - Orwell's political fable could not have
been easy to adapt for youth theatre but directors Julie
Brown and Carl Hayhurst made a gripping night of it.

Shattering Images presents The King, the Crow and the
Girl. Dukes. 1pm (Wed), 7.30 pm( Fri) DT3, Moor Lane. This
40 minute performance is freem - donations welcome. The King, the
Crow and the Girl is the latest spectacular performance from Shattering
Images Theatre Company, which works with people with complex needs.
This ambitious production will see a cast of 35 students from Loyne
School and Beaumont College in Lancaster and Tor View School in
Haslingden, working alongside a number of young volunteer leaders
and DT3 staff to create a spectacle involving live music, colourful
costumes and filmed sequences. The cast and crew have been working
since September to create this brand new theatre piece which is
set in a war-torn fictional city. Looking at issues of power and
the aftermath of war, this promises to be a unique and thought-provoking

An evening of blues and associated music for you. Rex (guitar, vocals)
and Rob (keyboard, saxophone) will perform a mixture of pre-war
(Robert Johnson, Big Bill Broonzy) blues, foot-stompin’ Memphis
jugband music and post-war blues songs by the likes of Terry/McGee
and Jimmy Reed. These guys sing and play like they mean it so sit
back, grab an armful of ale and enjoy.

scaling the Hollywood heights with The Hitchhiker's Guide To The
Galaxy, the UK's Hammer And Tongs musicpromomaking partnership of
director Garth Jennings and Nick Goldsmith went back to their lofi
roots for the followup. And thank God they did. Made for less than
Hitchhiker's ad budget, this great, handcrafted little wonder is
not only a rare funforallages crowdpleaser it's also a kids' movie
for adults that works on both levels without any compromise. Set
in a sleepy '80s seaside town, where Rambo: First Blood has just
opened, it finds two young loners becoming the best of friends while
trying to film their own Stalloneinspired action caper for TV's
Screen Test. Sweet, and truly heartwarming

Cyclists invited to take part in 'Le Terrier' Challenge.Dalton
Square between 7 and 8am. An entry fee of £20 is payable.
All proceeds and donations will go to Lancaster District Homeless
Action. Lancaster City Council’s Cycling Demonstration Town
Project is putting its weight behind a local event that takes cyclists
along a route with a view. Lancaster Cycling Club is inviting cyclists
to step up a gear this month and take part in ‘Le Terrier’
which offers participants two challenging routes through the stunning
Forest of Bowland. The 45 mile route heads for Jubilee Towers with
over 1,500m of ascent and a choice of return journeys. The 80 mile
route, with over 2,600m of ascent, is bound to be a favourite finishing
through Wray, Roeburndale, Scout Camp and Stocka Bank. Dalton Square
will also mark the end of the ride and host a range of exhibitors,
live music and refreshments. After a strenuous day cycling, you
can even treat yourself to a massage! . Register on the day at Lancaster
