11 Juan MartinJuan Martin, virtuoso of the flamenco guitar. 8pm. Tickets cost £14 adults, £12 concessions from the Box Office on 01524 582803The Platform,Morecambe. Juan Martin is a native of Andalucia, where he still has a home in Malaga. He spends much of his time touring as well as in London where he has formed his own international company for the promotion of high quality flamenco coming direct from Andalucia. He has recorded 18 albums, mostly as a composer and has several DVDs distributed by Warner Brothers and Mel Bay. His original method book 'El Arte Flamenco de la Guitarra' is in its eighth print and has opened the complex art of flamenco guitar to the world. It is now considered to be the 'bible' of flamenco guitar
   
Fri 12 & Sat 13 Heritage Open Days at Lancaster and Morecambe town halls. Visitors to the two buildings will be able to explore parts which are normally out of bounds or rarely available to view. In Lancaster these include:The imposing Council Chamber with the grand Mayor’s chair. The Mayor’s Parlour with the fine collection of civic silver and Gillow furniture including the magnificent centrifugal table. The majestic Ashton Hall with its grandconcert organ and the fine display of heraldic art on the ceiling. The former Magistrate’s Court Room complete with the original furniture. From the prisoner’s dock visitors will be “sent down” to view the atmospheric subterranean police cells, which in 1935 held Lancaster’s notorious double murderer, Dr Buck Ruxton.

Over at Morecambe visitors will have the chance to discover many hidden treasures including a mosaic of the Morecambe Coat of Arms at the foot of the impressive staircase, the Scroll of the College of Heralds and the Morecambe Mace. The book of Honorary Freemen, which includes the admission of 1930-40s comedian Albert Modley, will also be available for viewing. Morecambe Town Hall is also home of the ship's bell of HMS Morecambe Bay which is often visited and rung by the relatives of those who served on her. Tours of Lancaster Town Hall take place at 10am, 11am, 1pm, 2pm and 3pm. Tours of Morecambe Town hall take place at 11am, 12.30pm, 2.30pm and 4pm. Admission is by ticket only. They are available in advance from Lancaster Town Hall Customer Service Centre for the Lancaster tour or Morecambe Town Hall Customer Service Centre for the Morecambe tour. All tours can be pre-booked and tickets will be issued in advance (to be collected). They always prove to be very popular so book now to secure your place.

Sat 20 &Sun 21 Lancaster Unlocked -Judges Lodgings. Children free, adults £3, concessions £2. The Judges' Lodgings, Lancaster's oldest town house, is a Grade 1 listed building. It was home to the infamous Thomas Covell, Keeper of Lancaster Castle and also home to the Hanging Judges when they visited Lancaster during the assize courts. It is now a museum with splendidly restored period rooms housing a nationally important collection of Gillows furniture. You can see the unusual Victorian kitchen implements used by the servants and the elegant dining room where the Judges used to entertain their important guests. In the Museum of Childhood you can visit our Victorian schoolroom and enjoy our enchanting collection of dolls, toys and games spanning the 18th Century to the present day. Experience life as a Victorian child as we take you into the schoolroom, where our school-master will teach you the 3R’s. Then the Butler will put you to work in our Victorian kitchens.
